I want to come. What now?

Here's what to do...

Before Applying

1) Check out our available music vacation information with several fun &  informative pages available for you. Start at In-Person Events, and have fun exploring Play & Stay in the Finger LakesThings to DoRestaurants, & Lodging Options.

2) Check with our In-Person Event Levels and determine which events are right for you. This will help determine which weeks are designed for your level, and make sure you feel comfortable surrounded by others at your level at the event.

3) Note the dates for your desired event (on the In-Person Event Levels Page) & pencil them into your calendar. (Plan to travel in on Tuesday and travel back on Sunday. OR... stay in the area longer & enjoy more vacation time!)

Apply!

4) Once applications become available (between Feb 17 - March 9), fill out our online application to apply for the week you've chosen that also fits with your level. (No payment is needed at time of application!)

5) Wait for Beth to email you (2-5 days). She'll schedule a time to have a brief chat about Scor!.

6) Attend your one-on-one chat with Beth. This allows you to personally connect with Scor! faculty before coming and get any of your questions and concerns addressed. This will also ensure that you are comfortable with all aspects of the event, including that the event you applied for is the right fit for you.

Acceptance

7) You'll hear back from Beth about your acceptance soon.

8) Once you've been accepted, you'll sign a bit of paperwork and make your payment.

9) Once your payment has been made and cleared, you'll hear the final word that you're all set.

10) Look forward to attending!!!

Application FAQs

  • Is this a different process than before?

It's the same as last year, but different than before that. This more robust process will ensure that you'll attend the right week for your level, allows you to make a personal connection with Scor! faculty before camp, makes sure you get your questions answered, and that you're comfortable with all aspects of the event.

  • When should I apply?

Apply as soon as possible when applications open. (Before events open, estimated event opening dates are on the In-Person Events Page. You'll also hear when each event opens via email.) That way, you'll get the best price and have the best chance of getting accepted!

  • What if I'm unsure what level and event is right for me?

First, check out our In-Person Event Levels Page (see #2 above) to see which levels each event is designed for. Still not sure? Just ask! Beth will help you determine the level and event that's right for you. (Contact us below.)

  • Will I be accepted?

We certainly hope so! We are planning to accept absolutely as many people as possible. However, we can't make a guarantee that everyone will be accepted. Our capacity is limited, and we also want to ensure that you are comfortable with all aspects of the event, especially that your level is the right fit for the event. Also, we need to consider creating a decent balance of instruments in the ensemble. We will do everything we can to accept those that apply.

  • Will I risk not being accepted if I'm not good enough?

NO! It's not about how "good" you are. (Remember, you don't get better in order to come to Scor!. You come to Scor! so you can get better!) Our acceptance process is simply a way of making sure that you feel comfortable at the event, and that you're in the level that's the best fit for you.

  • Will you sell out?

We expect these events to be very popular. The earlier you apply, the better chance you'll have to get in. Because we have a very limited capacity, we expect to fill up rather quickly.

  • When do I pay?

No need to pay with your application. You'll make your payment after you've been accepted.

  • When should I book my lodging?

After the chat with Beth, once you've been accepted, is a good time to book your lodging. Feel free to do a little research beforehand so you'll know where to start. If you decide to book your lodging before your acceptance, make sure your lodging reservations are cancellable, just in case.

  • What travel arrangements should I make?

Pencil in on your calendar to travel in on Tuesday (or before) & travel back on Sunday (or later). Plan to find lodging accommodations from at least Tues - Sun. If you need to book a flight and/or rental car, we recommend waiting until your application process is complete and you've been accepted. If you wish to book anything sooner, make sure it's cancellable just in case.
