Scor! In-Person Event Cancellation Policy
What if I am no longer able to attend and have to cancel?
Effective 2/14/25, we’ve modified our cancellation policy to offer more and better options to you, the client, to reduce financial risks of attending an event.
Definitions: (“You” and “yours” refers to you, the Scor! client. “We”, “us”, and “ours” refers to Scor!)
Account Credit: If you need to cancel your registration prior to the day of the event for any reason, we will extend a credit to your Scor! client account. Credit remains in effect for a minimum of 1 year, and expires Sept 30 of the year following date of cancellation. Credit amounts vary (see "Credit Amount" section below), and are also subject to a cancellation fee and certain conditions--see below. Client account credits are kept on record and can be communicated to clients upon request.
Use of Credit: You can use your unexpired credit toward a variety of learning opportunities from the comfort of your home, such as Membership & Courses. We are happy to guide you to the possible uses of your credit, or customize a solution just for you. (Select options will be made available by Scor! staff.)
Permission may be granted at the discretion of Scor! Staff to use your credit from cancellation of an in-person event toward attending another future event. Although we intend to allow this whenever possible on an individual basis, in certain unusual circumstances we may be unable to apply your credit toward a future in-person event (such as mass cancellations, full event cancellations, if desired event is sold out or nearly sold out, or if individual has left a previous event prematurely of own volition or was removed by Scor! staff for breach of behavioral terms).
For more info on use of credits, see our Credits Page HERE.
Cancellation Fees: These fees cover costs of a substantial number of administrative tasks required to process your cancellation:
- Cancellation: Upon canceling your Scor! registration, a fee of $75 will be subtracted from your account credit to cover administrative costs.
- Transfer My Registration: If you are canceling your Scor! registration of one event and immediately transferring to another Scor! event during the same season, no fee currently applies.
Credit Amount: It is often necessary to make time-consuming changes of event plans due to cancellations. Because of this, your credit amount will be reduced if you cancel close to the date of camp. Listed below is the percentage your account will be credited (of your tuition amount paid minus the $75 cancellation fee), based on when you cancel. More than 2 weeks before camp, meal fees will only be credited if Scor!'s meal expenses are able to be cancelled. If you cancel...
- More than 6 weeks before camp: 100% credit
- 3-6 weeks before camp: 90% credit
- 0-2 weeks before camp: 90% credit from tuition, meals 0% (meals are not credited at this point as they will have already been ordered and expensed and are unable to be cancelled)
Last Minute Missed Days: If you are unable to attend at the last minute due to severe weather, travel delays, illness, or any other unforeseen situation, or you begin to attend but must leave, listed below is the percentage your account will be credited (of your full tuition paid not including meals, minus the $75 cancellation fee), based on when you came. If you …
- were unable to come unexpectedly beginning on the first instructional day but gave notice to Scor!: 75% credit
- came for any portion of one instructional day but then had to leave unexpectedly: 75% credit
- came for any portion of 2 instructional days but then had to leave unexpectedly: 50% credit
- came for any portion of 3 instructional days but had to miss 1 day: 0% credit
Donation Option: A generous and purposed alternative to retaining a credit is to instruct staff to convert your credit to a tax-deductible charitable gift.
No Refunds – Account Credit Only: Most of the costs involved with creating your Scor! experience are incurred well before the event. As a result, we are unfortunately unable to offer refunds (including cash, check, e-check, or any other payment method).
Installment Plan Cancellation: If you are participating in a Scor! installment plan and you cancel your registration, you may still retain a credit (subject to any cancellation fees listed above) for your monies paid to Scor! if you complete the installment plan in full. For example, if you cancel more than 6 weeks before camp, and complete your installment payments, you are eligible for a 100% credit of all your installment payments, which could be used for select online programs or possibly to attend a future in-person event at the discretion of Scor! Staff. (Payments are not refundable.)
If you cease making your installment payments however, you will not be granted account credit for future Scor! online instruction or events, and any monies paid to Scor! as part of that plan will be forfeited, and no account credits or refunds of the installment payments already made will be given to the client. This is because we have already planned on the revenue promised by you and reserved a space for you at the event, and we may need to take additional steps to address the shortfall in our budget. (Please CLICK HERE for more info on our Installment Plan.)
Phone Registrations: If you register for Scor! over the phone rather than using our complete online registration system, this complete Cancellation Policy will still apply to you and your registration.
Chargebacks: If due to cancelling a registration or any other reason (other than 3rd party fraud or an erroneous charge as agreed by both Scor! and you) you initiate a chargeback with your credit card company or reverse an e-check with your bank, this will constitute a balance due upon any future business with Scor!. You will not be accepted at any future Scor! event unless all original monies from the contested registration are paid in full. If you apply for a future event, your application will not be considered unless back funds are paid in full via e-check or paper check, and fully cleared through the banks.
Event Cancellation: Scor! does not plan to cancel any event. We will do everything we can to run all in-person events as planned. However, after several seasons were cancelled for pandemic-related reasons, we’ve had to add more policies and procedures in case of future cancellations. If an event must be cancelled, we will supply account credits to be used in our online program, or an equivalent online experience to all clients. We are unable to provide refunds, and the credit or substitute online experience will be the extent of what is offered.
(For lots more details about this, and some hefty legalize, you can find the remaining Force Majeure clauses HERE.)
The Scor! Cancellation Policy and all other policy pertaining to Scor! are construed under the laws of New York State and Ontario County, the location of Scor! events.
This Cancellation Policy was revised April 23, 2023 and again February 14, 2025, and remains in effect for the summer event season and perpetually or until a new revision is made by Scor!.
