Young Adult Advanced Level (Age 19-30*)

Exclusively for you: Musical Leadership Intensive (Young Adult)

Summary: This event affords a challenging and enriching environment for dedicated players with advanced skills. Participants should have several years of training & instruction (not just playing), plus many years of ensemble experience, including orchestra. Previous chamber music experience is recommended, but not required.

Have you...

  • become a skilled & advanced player?
  • had several years of training (including private lessons) on your instrument?
  • had extensive ensemble experience, potentially including orchestra, duet, pick-up groups, chamber music, etc.?
  • developed a very strong sense of pulse and rhythm, easily able to play with others and adjust as needed?

Does this describe you? You started as a child, & have played ever since. You’ve had lots of ensemble experience over the years. You've participated in orchestra, and possibly duets & chamber music. You’re comfortable playing 1-on-a-part, such as chamber music, duets, etc. You are comfortable sight-reading, and can very reliably keep a pulse, hold your own, and musically contribute in an ensemble. You are familiar with 2-3 octave scales. You’re able to execute several bow strokes, including legato, spiccato, brush stroke, portato, martelé, and détaché, and are comfortable setting the bow, producing a good tone, and using bow control to produce dynamics & expression. You are very comfortable with shifting and your proficiency reaches through at least 5 positions. You are a serious player, practicing regularly, musically involved, and actively wanting to improve.

If so, this level is for you. It will be challenging, energizing, & inspiring!

*Age Requirement: Recommended ages 19-30. This level is meant for Collegiate, Post-Collegiate, Pre-Professional, Young Professional, & Young String Teachers. It's perfect for filling gaps in your music training, enhancing musical training already received, or giving an extra inspiration & challenge to teachers & professionals just starting out. For age questions or exceptions, please contact us.
